Managing digital assets

Portfolio is a Digital Asset Management program that works with your Integrated Library System (ILS) and Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) to provide a single search of the contents of your catalog. A patron’s search can provide results from your library catalog, federated databases, digital asset database, and your own custom content.

The Assets page and its options help you to do the following when creating and managing digital assets:

Navigate a hierarchy that lets you easily organize the digital assets
Add, modify, copy, move, or delete digital assets and directory nodes in the digital asset hierarchy
See a preview image, if available, for a digital asset
View details for a digital asset, or the digital asset itself
View contents of a directory node
Import data and files for assets using a file loader or OAI-PMH harvester
Export data and files
Set up an OAI-PMH server to share asset metadata with other libraries
Configure asset management, such as creating, modifying, and deleting templates for metadata and adding, modifying, or deleting media types
Permanently remove deleted digital assets and directory nodes
Restore deleted digital assets and directory nodes to the digital asset hierarchy
